To: Our Orchard Community,
Recently we have been made aware of the possibility of vaping/e-cigarette paraphernalia that could have been left in our field, due to after school use by the community. In light of this, we would ask that you make yourselves and your students aware of what vaping/e-cigarette paraphernalia could look like and know our staff is diligent in looking for it as well. Here is a link from The US Health and Human Services Depart. regarding how to spot vaping/e-cigarette cartridges and a picture from the Davis County Health and Human Services Depart. with a few quick examples.
We ask that students leave the objects where they discover them and bring the adult on duty to the objects. The adult will dispose of them. If your student should bring home a vaping/e-cigarette object, please contact the school and let us know. A description of where the object was found would be helpful as well.
Here is a link to Davis School District’s resource page to help with ways to talk to your child about vaping/e-cigarettes.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We appreciate how committed everyone is to looking out for our kids, because it really does take a village and we are so grateful to our Orchard village.
